CA Supreme Court Nominee - Gov. Jerry Brown has nominated Stanford Law Professor to the California Supreme Court. Mariano-Florentino Cuellar is a Mexican-born Stanford Law School professor who was a special assistant for justice and regulatory policy in the Obama White House in 2009 and 2010. Veteran journalist Leo McElroy has witnessed the evolution of California's current governor and he joins us to talk about this latest appointment and what it will mean for the currently makeup of the California Supreme Court.
Sacratomato Week - California is a major producer of tomatoes, and in order to celebrate them, a group of Sutter District bars, cafes and restaurants will feature creative drinks and dishes. The public is invited to visit the local businesses and taste new recipes for the week which highlight the flourishing commodity for local farmers and chefs.
Food Literacy Center - New data shows that the Food Literacy Center, formerly the California Food Literacy Center, is having a positive impact in South Sacramento with its educational curriculum.
The Kimberly Trip - The Kimberly Trip is an intentionally small-scale "power-pop" band out of Sacramento. Their 9th album, "I'm All Out of Bubblegum," will be released on July 25 at Concerts in the Park, their first appearance at a large venue of its kind and will be their 500th show. They've sold over 10,000 albums in the greater Sacramento area and charted 2 top-10 singles in Brazil.
